cause he's brilliant! just like The Great Star of Africa!

it's not a coincidence that The Great Star is set on King Edward VII's scepter.

The Great Star is also named Cullinan I.

    hmmmm King Edward....Cullinan.

EDWARD CULLEN! Brillliant! so he sparkles :)

  • Mythologically speaking "vampires" weren't destroyed or burnt by sunlight at all. They could be seen during the daylight in several legends.

The whole idea that vampires are destroyed or burnt by sunlight comes from a movie version of Dracula made in 1922 called "Nosferatu". Made by F.W. murnau, the movie was an unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, and Murnau rewrote part of the plot in an effort to avoid being sued for copyright infringement.

Murnau and his writers came up with the idea that the Sun, and its light, are the giver of life to this world and are therefore the representation of God in His Holiness - logically the "vampire", a creature of evil, darkness, and probable demonic origin, should therefore be destroyed by sunlight. They wrote this into the plot, where the Mina Harker character allows Count Orlock to feed on her after setting her clock back. Her sacrifice keeps the Count in her room until daybreak, where he is destroyed by the rising sun.

The "sunlight" trick was never a part of vampire lore and legend prior to the 1922 film.
