What I have played for the most part of my life is ♪Street Cricket♪.
Tennis ball, no guards (pads, elbow pad, helmet etc), can be played without stumps is they aren't available.
►Major Rules: (There can be a variation of rules from place to place, but this is how I have played)
♦ Mostly 5 over each. (That's also vary depending on the number of players, unless it's unlimited)
♦ Players are variable. Depends on the number of boys present. Mostly it is around 5 each.
♦ Except of all the major ways to get out, LBW excluded, there is an extra way to get out, called Rule Out. That is when you hit the ball where you shouldn't, mostly inside some house, or somewhere the ball can get lost.
♦ No bowling, you just have to throw the ball.
Straight: 4 & 6.
Behind the wickets (Leg slip and off slip) : 2
♦ Boundary length: Around 40 m straight, but you have to hit dead straight, and if the ball goes over/inside a house, you are out. Less than 10 m behind.
♦ Mostly an umpire is chosen from one of the player of the batting team.
♦ Toss is done just before the first match (actually twice, once for deciding the team). Then afterwards, the winning team gets to bat first (Winning the match is winning the next toss).
