the GOP passed the civil rights act of 1967, so why are they racist today?

Hi. You may be misinformed. Actually, LBJ single-handedly passed that legislation with arm-twising and exceptional political skills. (See books by Robert Caro). The GOP had NO major input whatsoever. When LBJ did this he declared that regrettably from then on that The South would never vote Democratic again. And they haven't done so since.

You mean The Civil Rights Act of 1964? The Act was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, who would later sign the landmark Voting Rights Act into law.
Where do people get this incorrect info?

Because the liberals say so, and anyone that does not agree with every thing that is demanded by the blacks is an automatic racist.
When the whites didn't vote for Obama, they were racist, but when some of the black well known Republicans, switched over and voted for Obama, that was not considered to be racist. Only whites can be racist,Source(s): .

I want to remove every policy in the world that uses race as a determining factor. Using race as a determining factor is racist by definition.
Affirmative action is racist. Democrats are keeping affirmative action alive. Can you show me a GOP policy that uses race as a determining factor?
