How come Spanish is the 2nd most widely spoken language on Earth? not English?
it should be English, don't they use a simple logic?
Let's count the population of Anglosphere countries
USA (313 million)
UK (62,2 million)
Ireland (4,3 million)
Canada (33 million Anglophones)
Australia (23 Million)
New Zealand (4,5 million)
Sigaporean and Malaysian native Anglophones (5 Million)
White South African (+ Afrikaaners) (4,5 million)
Nigeria (4 million natives)
The Phillipines (3,5 million natives)
British Overseas territories (250,485)
I don't count those upper classes in my country (Indonesia)or any other country for that matter, who raise their children in English. I'm also aware that not everybody in such country have English as their 1st language but still...
It's already more than 458 Million speaker!
Also, that article on wikipedia about languages by native speaker is FALSE!
Why on earth they combine Malaysian and Indonesian speakers (37 million)?! they're not the same, and the population of Indonesia itself is 240 Million! All Indonesians speak Indonesian, even though it's not always our first language but it's still our native langauge (Yes, Generally we are raised bilingual in Indonesian and regional langauges such as Javanese, Sundanese etc) ! but still 240 million -> 37 million speakers?!
Why is it like this? O.o
and no it's not Cantonese, but Mandarin Chinese! Cantonese has fewer native speakers than Manadarin. English is spoken by 1,8 billion people (total native + 2nd/3rd/4th language speakers)
Canada's population is 35 million, I know that 25% of them are Francophone, but most Francophone are also bilingual.
