European cities like London, paris, edinbourgh ,dublin, paris, lyon, madrid ,seville, barcelon, vienna, prague ,oslo, stockholm, helsinki, copenhagen, milan ,bologna ,florence ,turin, munich, berlin, rome, malta ,vatican ,amsterdam ,moscow ,venice ,lisbon ,ankara ,istanbul ,sofia ,budapest etc the list of amazing cities is endless.Europe just has sooo many amazing cities, the only american cities that equate to them are NYC (obviously cus its the greatest place on earth :D) san fransisco,LA,boston, seattle,DC and a few other smaller cities like charlotte and savannah among others. So my question is why does europe have such a much larger bulk of historic and interesting cities with so much more things to do in them for tourists?

thanks. Oh Im also neither european or american so dont be accusing me of favouring europe cus im european or something :P JUst an observation!

European cities have been build over the centuries, time in which most people walked.

Many American cities were build with wheeled transport, first wagons and carriages, later cars, in mind.

There are European cities build or rebuild around cars and those are the ones that are less nice to walk in.

Of course, 10 to 20 centuries history does help as well, in the USA the cities with most history do better for tourists than the ones that have been (re)build more recently.

It's not that they're more interesting it's just that what makes a country beautiful is it's originality but one thing I know for sure, everyone has his own preferences, you might not like many american cities and prefer European cities prefer american cities rather than European. Also it's because some of the cities in Europe are rich and have a good economy which give them the money to improve certain place.
