Is a '95 mustang a good trade for a '85 fiero?

1985 fiero. 4 cyl, no rust at all, 69000 miles. Needs a gas tank (already dismounted for them) and a fuel pump (fuel pump is included))

1995 mustang. V6. Daily driver. 160,000 miles on the new engine, 220,000 on the body. Needs rotors and brakes.

Is this a good trade?

The 2.5L "Iron Duke" I4 in the Fiero was renowned for it's ability to to catch fire. The car also shares much of if it's underpinnings with such notable cars as the Chevy Chevette, and Citation . It's not a very good car.

The V6 Mustang isn't a great car either. But with 220k miles on it, it's probably ready for retirement. But I don't think replacing it with a 27 year old car with a reputation for shoddy build quality (even by mid-80's standards), poor performance, and engine fires is a particularly smart move.

    Too many unknowns to know.

Biggest one is why was the engine replaced with only 80K miles? Car could have been beat badly. "New" engine could be almost shot if it was treated the same.

Condition and what you want to drive is everything and we don't know that.
