nail size splinter in my foot?

after taking out the splinter and trying to treat it around the wound it feels like there are knotts and it is painful is this just brusing and is it normal for the healing process?

    It is impossible for anyone here to know for sure, but if it is painful that is a cause for concern. One thing you need to do is get a tetanus shot if you have not had one in the last 5 years. Try soaking your foot in a mixture of hot water and baking soda which will help draw out any other bits of splinter that might be in there. Check here for more information and additional ideas.

    Keep bathing your foot in salt water and cover it with a band-aid to keep it clean...................
