one for the trunk of the car and one to mount on the bike.

K-Mart doesn't sell a good pump to mount on the bicycle. I had one of these a few years ago...http://www.kmart.com/schwinn-aluminum-frame-mini-p... Key word being "had". Would barely pump up a mountain bike tire to 40 psi. No way could it fill a road bike tire to say - 90 psi.
You get what you pay for. Get a Topeak frame pump from your local bike shop or Amazon.com. A Mountain Morph pump is good for lower pressure tires. A Road Morph G is the only way to go for high pressure tires. Links below.Source(s): http://www.topeak.com/products/Pumps/MountainMorph http://www.topeak.com/products/Pumps/RoadMorphG

I got a Schwinn frame pump from them that I like a lot. It has a plug to keep dirt out. I put some TriFlow in the head so it works smoothly.
Get a good floor pump don't bother with the cheap ones. Walmart has a Zefal floor pump that is great for $20. Never heard anything good about the Schwinn floor pumps.

Look at the inside of the pump, where it attaches to the valve if you see an X shaped piece of cra... I mean plastic, stay away from it. That piece of cra... I mean plastic will deform and break at the slightest touch with the valve's shaft. Period.

im not sure, i usually try to avoid kmart and stuff for bike accessories. you should either go to a bike shop or other local store for a better pump. i recently got my pump from http://2wheelbikes.com/foot-pump-02-bike-accessori... and it works great.
