    If you have salt dissolved in water, it formed Na+ and Cl- ions. You can do an experiment to prove that adding more NaCl to the solution will upset the equilibrium, and to achieve equilibrium again, more Na+ and Cl- ions will be formed. This reaction is helpful when understanding what happens.

    NaCl --> Na+ + Cl-
