soon to be owning a few acres and horses- what tractors/atvs etc to buy? or not to?
I am in the process of closing on a 8 acre property. about 6 acres is fenced in. I will have 3-4 horses. They will be outside most of the time, but I will have stalls in the barn. I will have an outdoor arena as well. The lawn area will be about 1.5 acres. The land is pretty flat- only a very slight slope in 2 areas. The driveway is probably 100 feet, and gravel.
What should I buy for lawn mowing, manure management, snow plowing, and arena dragging?
Any suggestions of what to buy or what not to buy?
Should I go the route of ATV and buy lawn mower and cart accessory?
A bobcat? Gator?
Or what else?
I don't want to spend a ton of money, but if I can get everything done with only one or two machines, it would make it easier to store.
Thanks for any types or suggestions!
We have good pastureland around here, so it can support the amount of horses. Plus, I forgot to mention I have a drylot system for at night, winter, and when the horses are getting fat. The pasture is split into 3 areas for rotational grazing.

6 acres of grass, you'll find, will soon turn into 6 acres of dirt with 4 horses on it.
I strongly suggest investing in a reliable ATV. We've had luck with Honda. You can buy a metal harrow that will simply attach to the back rack of your ATV. For manure we use a bobcat, but you can buy a hydraulic scoop for the front of your truck, and it almost works as good. It's also used for snow-plowing (the shovel tends to work better for this). For lawn care we use a ride-on lawn mower. However, we also have sheep that we set out now and again-- think about it.

I have 6 acres and here's what I have: For lawn mowing, I have an ancient John Deere riding mower. I also have a dump cart and spreader for this tractor. For the pasture, and for snow plowing, I have a Kubota L2350, which is a compact diesel tractor - sort of medium sized. It has a bucket, which comes in handy for the manure pile, and for deep snow, and it's got bush hog and snow plow attachments for the rear.

go to your local tractor shop and talk to them about what you need.
an atv can be nice, but you can only do so much with it.
if you have the money, get a small tractor. that'd better than an atv.
tractors come with accessories. so do atvs.
you can get one or the other. tractors of course will be more...but you can also get a used one at an auction.
a bobcat isn't something I'd recommend.
