Some drugs are physiologically addictive, and others are psychologically addictive. When a drug is physiologically addictive it means that without the drug, your body and brain will not be in homeostasis(when everything is balanced) and you will withdrawal. Different drugs have different withdrawal effects, such as vomiting and diarrhea, to lethargy and the shakes. You have to keep getting the drug in order to not get sick. Psychologically addictive literally just means you want it. Anything can be psychologically addictive, such as playing video games, or even mowing your lawn.

Drugs are addictive because they either mimic or stimulate the production of brain chemicals that cause feelings of pleasure. After a period of time, your brain adjusts to the higher levels of the chemicals, and it becomes necessary to use more drugs to get the same effect.

Drugs like Cannabis,Heroine and Cocaine are addictive because of how happy they make people, They come naturally with dangerous chemicals that interferes with your brain and causes you to be happy. Drugs like Tobbacco which are in Cigarettes and in Roll-ups have the kind of taste of nicotine which people get addicted to the taste. Other drugs just make people happy with the chemicals that are naturally inside them.

Some drugs replace the natural chemical in our brains that makes us happy. After some period of use our brain stops making that chemical.
