Why do many people ignore that Judaism and Christianity are related?

Apparently Judaism is the Messiah being prophesied to arrive before the Jewish people to be the conquering king, crushing all of their enemies. When the Messiah came (who was Jesus), the Jews did not accept him because he was Law and Grace. The Jews only wanted Law, not Grace. After Jesus was resurrected, Christianity was made as a shoot off of Judaism. The Jews did not accept Christianity, and Christians did not like Jews. As time went on, Christians forgot their Jewish roots (and denied the fact that Jesus was Jewish), became anti-semitic, and maligned Jews ever since.

With all this being said, why do many people ignore the fact that Christianity was related to Judaism, and Judaism in fact came first? (I am not criticizing anyone, religious people are allowed to answer to, just as long as everybody keeps their answers clean). The most informed answer will be chosen
