    Many people never get fired.

If you've been fired multiple times, it's time to look at what you're doing for that to happen.

That definitely depends on your job and the industry the company you work for is into. I've never been fired and have been laid off twice. I've also never worked for a boss that wanted less than my honest opinion--I have never taken a job with anyone who needed their butt kissed. Finding a boss like that takes a lot--including being willing to work two jobs so you are free to walk out of one of them.

A lot of this depends if the person has a college degree in a field that is in demand.

Ex: A fast food worker would be fired much more often than a Nuclear Engineer.

I'm 37 and have never been fired or laid off. Hope that helps your average.
