    Molecular weight od NaN3 = 65

    1 mole of NaN3 weighs 65 g

    70 g = 70/65 moles = 1.077 moles

    Equality --> a million mol = 6.022 X 10^23 Conversion aspects --> a million mol/(6.022 X 10^23) (6.022 X 10^23)/a million mol a million. 2.0 mol X (6.022X10^23)/a million mol = a million.2044 X 10^24 2. a million.5 mol X (6.022X10^23)/a million mol = 9.033 X 10^23 a million. (a million.204 X 10^24) X a million mol/(6.022 X 10^23) = 2 mol 2. (a million.5 X 10^20) X a million mol/(6.022 X 10^23) = 2.5 mol

    1Mole NaN3=23+14x3=65g

    65g=1 Mole

    70g= 70/65Mole =1.0769 Mole

    When we're converting from grams to moles of a given chemical, we need two things: a) the mass of the sample that will be converted, and b) the molecular weight of the compound. According to Wikipedia, the molecular weight of NaN3 is 65.0099 g/mol. This means that for every 6.022x10^23 atoms of NaN3 (or 1 mol of NaN3), we have a mass of 65.0099g. Now that we know the information we need, let's calculate the number of moles.

    Dimensional analysis tells us that if we divide the mass (g) by the molecular weight (g/mol), we'll achieve moles, as shown: [g]*1/[g/mol] = [g]*[mol/g] = mol

    So now let's divide.

    70 g NaN3/65.0099g/mol NaN3 = 1.075 mol NaN3

    Hope this helps!
