Why is it necessary to go on our knees and ask God not to lead us into temptations? Why would he?

Jesus never said to pray that way, as he would never have said it himself.

This is a good example where satan has applied a sentence to where he could get Christians to pray to both GOD and him at the same time and they wouldn't even question it.

Remove that part from the prayer, but the rest of it, Jesus did in teach the disciples to pray every day and all the time.

There is Hope. Soon, very soon, GOD will rise and show the world that HE lives and will begin to take back what belongs to HIM. This includes cleansing "religion", and bring them back to a pure state of being, following HIS teachings, and not man made.

    GOD Bless

good for you for notice that, and having the courage to ask.

Jehovah God will never tempt us into doing anything that is wrong. Satan and his demons take are the ones that tempt us into wrongdoing. If not Satan and his demons there are the desires of the flesh that tempts us into wrongdoing. We are imperfect. But with us being imperfect Jehovah God will give us the strength to endure being tempted and make a way out so that we do not fall into sin.

"No temptation has taken YOU except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let YOU be tempted beyond what YOU can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out in order for YOU to be able to endure it."-1 Corinthians 10:13

I have never heard it was necessary to do that.

    But, the Bible says:

    James 1:13-15

Let no man say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted of God'. For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man.But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death."

I know there is a prayer that says"lead us not into temptation...", If that's what you are referring to it just means that we are asking him to keep us away from situations where we will be tempted because of the devil and our weaknesses. Not that he tempting us.

it's not really like that, but it could seem like that. Reality is very complex and learning is like going to school where you learn a bit at a time. You learn that selfishness is empty by being that way and experiencing the lack of fulfillment that it delivers. You learn that vanity is painful by trying it out and having that expeience. God is not torturing you, he is teaching you the finer points of reality :-)

It is not necessary, if you could stay on the right path on your own – all the power to you- but if you need help GOD is there for people who ask for his help!
