If it has a prescription label on it, there is no difficulty. If it does not have the label, get a duplicate copy of the prescription, just in case (I've never been asked to verify any medication with a label.)

However, airport security screening limits the size of all carry-on luggage to containers of no more than 100 ml (3 oz) so if the container is larger than that, it must be carried in checked-through luggage, or moved to the smaller container allowed for carry-on.

No, airport X-rays will not affect medications of any sort.
