I agree wholeheartedly. For those persons who say Bush would have pushed extra stable: no rely how difficult Bush pushed, the democratic Congress grew to become into under no circumstances going to pass any modification, decision or bill for extra oversight on banking because of the fact they have been getting too wealthy by utilising combating any proposed legislations.

    Yea sure.

The beginnings of the collapse was the removal of Glass-Steagal, by Republicans in Congress but signed by Clinton. The problem was clearly one of deregulation, something Republicans not Democrats push for at every notice.

ah yea, the housing implosion happened because of over regulation....you wannabe republicans make me laugh because of how ignorant and stupid you are. You have absolutely no grasp of reality and know nothing of economic theory. If you did, you would realize that 400 americans having the same wealth as the bottom 100 million HOUSEHOLDS...isn't exactly a recipe for a healthy economy.....but wait they "earned" that money with "hard" work...and we don't want to punish "success"....isn't that your delusional way of thinking?

Only in america can a republican talk redneck retards into believing that the poor have it made becuase they don't make enough to pay federal income tax....and the mega wealthy are the victims??

@Dave87gn - The removal of Glass-Steagal was a safeguard. It simply allowed for the mergers between banks and mortgage companies in the event of a collapse in the system.

The problem was the Liberals' insistence of housing the poor at any cost, and penalizing any institution who refused to comply with the plan.

  • All Democrats always blame Republicans for all expected outcomes of all Democrat policies. No exceptions - ever. With very few exceptions, they also blame Republicans for every piece of legislation any DEMOCRAT ever wrote.

The collapse was caused by the removal of Glass Steagal ( a republican bill) which allowed the banks to act irresponsibly...

Bush's legacy will be the 2 unfunded Wars and presiding over the Great Recession that left our Debt/Deficit in such terrible shape.

Bush did not veto 1 single piece of spending legislation during his 8 years in office.

That's just the way it is...
