    @ Uncle, the asker is a U.S. citizen not a LPR who can get a travel document, I-131.

    As U.S. citizen you can get your "visa" as tourist on arrival at the Turkish airport. It is actually just a stamp affixed to the passport for a fee of US$20 or €15. It grants a three months stay and multiple entries.

    United States of America: Ordinary and official passport holders are required to have visa to enter Turkey. They can obtain three month-multiple entry visas from Turkish diplomatic representations abroad and also at the Turkish border gates.
