Netflix licenses anime (and other stuff) differently that Hulu. Specifically, Hulu typically puts on it's site what is presented when it was broadcast on tv, which means if it was censored in Japan, it will likely be censored on Hulu. Netflix on the other hand, puts the DVD content on it's site, which is typically uncensored and uncut (though not always) and that is the defining difference. Neither company is automatically censoring content, it is censored based on your personal settings and what version of the show they are streaming for you.

    Because Hulu has advertisers
