Cinder Block Bed Risers?

What is the best way (if possible) to use cinder blocks (vertically) to raise a FULL sized bed? I've seen it done with twin beds in dorm rooms before but I'm hesitant to use the basic 4 at each corner on a full. Are there other support locations to be considered in this case?

well they work well both ways i have never seen a bed fall off them when u put them on the block the tall est way but it is less likely to fall if u put it on the blocks the shortest way

It seems the cinder blocks could do some damage to your floor, and if you use no frame you'll have uneven weight distribution on mattress which can make it lumpy or uncomfotable. You can get a metal frame at most furniture/mattress stores for $25-30 and a set of risers cheap $12 at Ikea, $18 at Bed Bath & Beyond The blocks just seem complicated and potentially problem causing.
