i know dogs hide treats, but my dog hides my socks, hair pins, my bag, anything he can carry with his mouth.

He saves them so he can go back and play w/them when he wants to...otherwise you might put them somewhere and he wouldn't be able to find them.

I used to have 2 Shih tzu mix brothers. One of them passed on 2 months ago on the 28th. The younger remaining dog has started hiding things and walking into different rooms when he get treats to eat them. I have another dog not related to the 2 already mentioned, he didn't start acting this way until after his brother passed away. Is your dog an only "child" or are their other dog's and or children in the home? Some dog's do it just because they want to feel like "their stuff" is safe. Even without any other dog's or children around.
