Is there a way to force eject a disc from an original PS3? ?

A disc is stuck in it, the eject button isn't working but it knows there's a disc in it. No disc icon is showing up in menu so can't eject from options.

Switch off the ps3 with the switch in the back. Press and hold the eject button and switch the ps3 back on and it'll force eject
