    There are plenty sub-prime lenders out there. You really need to know just how bad your credit really is. However, most of these lenders work only with dealers, not individuals.

    Here are a few:

    Capital One

    Americredit

    National Auto Finance (Nuvell)

    For really bad credit try:

    Drive Financial

    Crescent Bank

    Consumer Portfolio Serv.

    Credit Acceptance Corp.

    You can always try a buy-here/pay-here dealer as well.

    It depends on how low the score is, and the car and the amount of the loan.

    You may have to go to a buy here pay here kind of place and pay double what you would pay regularly for a car. And... you could also find yourself paying 29% interest.

    Try to have at least 20% down.

    And the poor... get poorer.
