What would be a good thesis statement for the great gatsby? ?
It must be a universal statement about life. My theme is the pursuit of the american dream and the importance of money and social standards.
I pretty much want to talk about the illusion of the American dream. The obsession for material possessions. In my essay I want to talk about gatsby goal to win daisys love and how that situation imitates many americans American dreams. How gatsby lost himself and his true goal "not to waist time" and gatsby view of daisys perfection that she can't possibly attain blinding him of her true colors and limitations. How gatsbys dream reveals the corruption that wealth causes and the unworthiness of his goal.
Sorry for going on and on but I can't think of a thesis that puts this thought together. Pls help!

Throughout the novel, The Great Gatsby, the main character, Jay Gatsby, relentlessly strives to achieve this surreal and unattainable dream.
