Compare Britain to the practises of Nazi Germany and it's obvious who the 'good guys' were:

Mass extermination of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals etc.
Wars of aggression against neighbouring countries.
Brutal reprisals to acts of resistance, including the massacres of entire towns.
Use of slave labour in armaments factories.
Political repression and terror through the Geheim Staatspolizei (Gestapo).
Political indoctrination via the Hitler Youth.

Yeah, well then we wouldn't have a world that accepts abortion and homosexuality.
We wouldn't have a world that accepts divorce.
We would still have a world that practices capital punishment.
We would have an Empire or racists and oppressive ass9oles.
It would be acceptable for anyone to strike misbehaving children.

Because the Nazis would have had a foothold and they would have most likely won the war.

In fact, you wouldn't be here to complain about that in all likely hood. Because Hitler's eugenic plan would be in full swing.

So what you are saying is that you would rather the Germans won?

At that point, they were killing or enslaving anyone that wasn't white & didn't conform to their beliefs. Abortion was legal but only to kill undesirable children. Children and adults who had mental or physical handicaps were killed routinely. Homosexuals were not imprisoned or frowned upon, they were brutally murdered. Germans had capital punishment too, in fact they simply used it on anyone who did not agree with their culture & religion. The Germans were committing genocide on a mass scale in their efforts to create the 3rd Reich (their empire). I could keep going too. Oh and if you refused to join the army when drafted you would have been shot, deservedly too.

You cannot look at the country as is was then with 2012 values,it doesn't work like that,my father went to fight in the war because he had no choice,he was called up,he was 28 years old,he didn't want to be a soldier,but as he said later,what sort of person are you if you wont fight for freedom? Adolf Hitler wanted to rule the world and kill anyone who got in his way,you cant give in to people like that.By the way,if there was a world war again,you would have no choice,you would be called up as my father was,and told you are going to fight. By cheering for your country's destruction you are cheering for your own destruction,don't you realise that? If it wasn't for people like my father we would all be speaking german now and the country would probably still be all white because hitler would have killed all people not white or german!

ok, considering that the U.S.A had all these and eugenics was also largely prevelant i would say yes,


we had an empire that was racist and oppressive, so did, france, italty, the U.S ( it doesnt like to call its over seas possesion an empire, ) holland, belguim, spain.

ofc there wasnt multiculturalism diversity as we know it (there was alot of forgenieers) these things only came about following the fall of our empire, with groups coming from africa (muslim communites in uganda big example ) west indies, india, pakistan, following our leaveing of their nations, and giving out passports to people aswell as propaganda trying to bring in cheap labour.

also the things that you are frowing upon were the norm back then black people where "wogs" and calling them black was more offensive.

you can use your opinion to decide that the U.K wasnt worth fighting for but you are projecting your own values of modern society on an age where they didnt have the same values, also if it werent for people fighting in the war it would still be the same

There were black people in parts of the UK - if you were around then you wouldn't have had a lot of choice, a lot of people who refused to fight chose to go to prison for fear of being beaten up - remember the rest of the world was in same, in the US there was segregation as well as all the other things you mention.
