My dad is racist and I don't know how to make him change his mind?
Well when I say racist I don't mean exactly that, he is sectarian; he has a hatred of catholics/nationalists.

that is all in the past, people where killed, revenge was taken but it's basically over now. I can understand the previous generations still not liking eachother but my generation seriously doesn't care, we just don't give a crap.
Anyway my dad seems to think my generation is the same and it is a rediculous notion, I used to have a catholic girlfriend, she was really sweet, she was a quiet girl who enjoyed long walks and cuddling with me, none of that partying crap, so she was the perfect girl but my dad treated her like crap, to him she was an immoral catholic sl*t and he didn't want me with her. Eventually she broke down in tears because she couldn't take my dad and she left me.
My dad still gets on like this. He is fairly religious and I am athiest, I have atheistic morals and refuse to discriminate someone one their religion. How can I make him change his opinion?
I am 17 years old btw and I do like a catholic girl at the miniute, but I feel my dad will disown me if I date her.
