R&P: What are your favorite songs that mention the word or objects in "space"?
I felt the need to share this with you guys as I soon have to make some choices that may very well dramatically affect my future. I have to decide where I want to go to college and what I want to become!
Fortunately, being 16, I have many opportunities that lie ahead of me, with some money saved up for college. The career that intrigues me the most is that of an astronomical occupation. Put simply, an astronomer! I want to study space, beyond space, etc.
For anybody who cares, I've recently been reading up on NASA's homepage, and found this interesting little video of a star being devoured by a black hole. This kind of stuff is immensely intriguing to me and I hope that perhaps some other users within the section will feel the same. If not, who cares?! I like it!
So.. yeah, being the young nerd I am, I want to become an astronomer. So.. what are your favorite songs that mention "space" (or something relative) somewhere in the title or lyrics?
[BQ a] If you've not yet attended college, what do you wish to pursue?
[BQ b] If you've attended college, what did you pursue and how did it turn out?
[BQ c] If you're attending college, what are you pursuing and how is your education going thus far?
I think so too. LOL.

Well, thanks! :o

Hi Sheep! I hope you're having a good day?
Song: Space Station Number 5 - Montrose. Really good rock song from; a hungry band!
a. Mid 90's as a mature adult went to university to become a Probation Officer. Whilst studying found out " the hang 'em and flog 'em brigade " ran the show. I became disillusioned. At a later time, went to do a post grad / primary school teaching. Became very ill, that scotched that. Still, glad I attended uni.
Health a bit of a downer. H.M. Forces Veteran ( soldier ) now suffer from P.T.S.D. and all sorts, all linked to former life as a soldier. The main thing is it ain't over. There's much for me to be thankful for so, onward and; upward.
Hey Sheep, on a lighter note ( you asked that's why I said what I have okay? ) over here on British t.v. this fellow is well thought of. when it comes to Science he makes it easily accessible for all and sundry. His name is Prof Brian Cox. Formerly of the band D.Ream.
Over here this man is something of a national institution: Sir Patrick Moore. He really is an authority on astronomy over here. As a young lad on t.v. I'd often watch him. Also, there was a lady who was very good too: Heather Couper. Doubtless, you know of these people already.
I hope you work like a demon at your studies and get to do what you want to do.
I have had a few poems published, one is still on Tate Modern, website. Taught myself to paint, exhibited and; sold. All there on YA data? Just to fill you in, I am a well rounded person.
Degree: B.A. ( Hons ) Major: Criminlogy. Minor: Politics.Source(s): Music lover, good luck!

BQ b: I studied Office Management: business translation (Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish). I finished college almost 2 years ago. Now I know I made the wrong choice. I should have chosen astronomy/astrophysics as well. Unfortunately my interest in the universe started too late (almost 1 year ago). I could go back to college of course, but then I would get financial problems.

That's really cool. I have always had an interest in astronomy. Been subscribed to Scientific American for a long time. Good luck and pursue your dream.
As for songs:

FRANK SINATRA- Sky Fell Down
URIAH HEEP- Southern Star

If I went to College again, probably I would study art, which is what I have been working in for 2 decades.
I studied psychology but never worked as a psychologist. Had other jobs and then turned to paint and have been a professional painter ever since.
