Isn't a white person who condones or does nothing against a white racist or racism just as bad as a racist?

i think so, also for being prejudiced too.although more people seem to be more prejudice and its more easily accepted then being racist. i even think that the blacks who condone prejudice against whites for whatever reason are just as bad as those who do it. some people think it only works one way but it don't,...

In life we sometimes think there is an easy way out or say idk, or whatever. You have to choose sides in most cases, can't ride the fence.

You either stand up for something or you fall for anything.

And seriously either you are part of the problem or part of the solution. all through life people had to be faced with choices through history, the revolution, people on "both sides" had to pick one, civil war? no such thing, people need to realize you cant ride the fence on issues. You just have to make a choice. Even in smaller situations, you see somebody at work getting treated unfairly you probably should speak up, but often we don't but we expect our kids to at school.

Excellent question...yes, they are accomplices after the fact...like in any crime. I think what many whites see as prejudice are preemptive strikes or pro-active to the numerous experiences of outright racism...when you have faced prejudice and racism, you have expect it more that a positive response...I worked with 3 white doctors who were always so concerned about the conditions of the black community and what they could do..initiatives, projects; etc...when I told them the best they could do for the black community was to begin working against prejudice and discrimination not in our community but in THEIRS...that is where the corridors of power are walked, significant decisions made that don't include blacks but affect blacks...they were speechless b/c they wanted the visibility of the white saviors coming to the rescue of blacks but did not want the danger of assaulting racism where it begins, is fostered, and lives and breathes.

Just being a racist or spouting racism is not illegal, nor is it a justification for assaulting or harassing the person. Not in public anyway. However, if the person is involved in private employment or a private organization, they have the right to intervene and remove him/her from the premises.

As far as prejudices

everyone prejudges..it is human nature to prejudge someone that you have had negative experiences with

people assume/judge people all the time based on the clothes they wear, how they behave and other things

it doesnt mean it's right..but usually prejudices stem from people that have had bad experiences with whatever group they are prejudice against..
well except for whites..i think whites are the only group that are racist who are never/rarely around non-whites

Yes I do agree if someone condones it then yes. Now if someone does nothing about it, might be a diff. story. They might not want to get involved due to not feeling safe to say anything, cause you are very right, it is everywhere and those thar are doing it need to have someone say something to them. Its just a little harder said then done.

you, as someone who dated interracially but still speaks as if they were "like" white people... you will USE racism as an excuse to justify your own behavior.

It is NOT racism for people not to date out of their own race and in fact find it offensive... but YOU will do just that... paint the overwhelming majority of any race as racist in order to explain away your broken behavior.

and when i say the same thing to a broken black boy... he will cry racism. and you, will condone it.

why are you still Speaking as if you were like "white" people? you seem to want to disassociate yourself from your behavior ...you and the people like you ...regardless of their race... are more of the problem than anything...those that seek to expand and redefine what it is for your particular broken interests.
