Update 2:

"Speaking at the second annual Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit were the parents of Justin Aaberg, a gay 15-year-old from Champlain, Minn., who hanged himself after being bullied. The parents, Tammy and Shawn Aaberg said that one form of the bullying came from a student religious group whose members told Justin that he was going to hell because he was gay. The harm of legalizing gay marriage is the same harm caused by any gay relationship. Loving relationships need to be based on commonality, respect, honesty, nurturing, and most of all, "community support". Without community support toward an individual relationship and those same relationships supporting the community through contribution, participation, and integration we don't have a society that supports freedom, tolerance, and cooperation.

The point is that society has the opportunity to supporting the "whole" population by recognizing (the institution of marriage) all relationships between consenting adults. Legalizing gay marriage harms all narrow-mindedness. It harms all forms of prejudice, and cultural bias. It harms all institutions which are based on intolerance, exclusivity, and right-wing agendas which disrespects all forms individuality, individual rights, personal freedom, and anything else they aren't allowed to place their stamp of approval on. If we believe in freedom for all, cultural cooperation, and respect for all living creatures, we must legalized gay marriage.

No one nor anything would be hurt by gay marriage. But you asked the wrong question. .....How can people deny other people there human rights. Now yes the religions can deny gay marriage on a religious base but the government has no reason to deny any human their rights based on religious policy. Its called separation of church and state.

Um... God? I think that must be it, otherwise they wouldn't be so upset. God must be harmed in some way.

They say that Thor got a headache every time someone carelessly threw down a whetstone. Maybe this is something similar.

The only damage would be imaginary, in the minds of religious nut cases.
