I don't think there's an individual poem titled "A Shropshire Lad"; it's the title of a book of poems. I'm sure the book has been written about many times by many scholars. But I would bet dollars to donuts that you have only gloobled and have not set foot in a library or even virtual foot in an online library catalog. That would be the place to start: search for books whose subject is "Housman, A.E.," or ask the librarian how to get access to specialized databases of literary criticism to which the library subscribes (databases that will not show up on glooble searches because they're available only by paid subscription).
