Calculating performance of the system?

A multiprocessor consists of 8 processors, each capable a peak execution rate of 10 GFLOPs (billions of floating point operations per second). What is the performance of the system as measured in MFLOPs when 20% of the code is sequential and 80% is parallelizable?

    20% is serial 80% is parallel. Assuming that you have some means of distributing this 80% of the parallel code on all 8 processors, it make take 10% of the efforts or time.

    Thus, the code may execute within 30% of the time.

    Speedup= 100/30=3.33
