For people fluent in russian?

Okay so we just adopted boys from russia and they always point to something and say something that sounds like "whatam" or "watum" or "vatum" idk haha but it makes me so mad!! Do you know what it could be?:)

    over there.

    i think you mean вот там

    it literally means "that, over there"

    it can be used as a statement or as a question
