why atheists deny the fact that evolution is a religious belief ?
it is a belief system because it require faith, some of them are darwinian evo'er, while the other are mendellian evo'er.
and they both despise each other, just like a religion
see... GOD exist even if you deny the existence of GOD
which one ? darwinian or mendellian ???
it require faith to mendell or darwin... hence mendellian evoer or darwinian evoer
yet even scientist accept that not everything can be explained by logic... WOW ?
following Darwin’s lead, held that evolution occurred slowly,
and in a continuous curve.
mendellian believed that it occurred in
discontinuous leaps, and that Mendel’s laws showed how that
yet you agree that the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence... !!!

Evolution is supported by empirical evidence.
The presence of evidence belies the need for faith.
A religious belief requires faith.
Therefore, evolution is not a religious belief.
And this bafflegab about 'darwinian evo'er' versus 'mendellian evo'er'? It's entirely of your own invention.

According to the United States National Academy of Sciences,
Some scientific explanations are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them. The explanation becomes a scientific theory. In everyday language a theory means a hunch or speculation. Not so in science. In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature supported by facts gathered over time. Theories also allow scientists to make predictions about as yet unobserved phenomena,
In science, a "fact" typically refers to an observation, measurement, or other form of evidence that can be expected to occur the same way under similar circumstances. However, scientists also use the term "fact" to refer to a scientific explanation that has been tested and confirmed so many times that there is no longer a compelling reason to keep testing it or looking for additional examples. In that respect, the past and continuing occurrence of evolution is a scientific fact. Because the evidence supporting it is so strong, scientists no longer question whether biological evolution has occurred and is continuing to occur. Instead, they investigate the mechanisms of evolution, how rapidly evolution can take place, and related questions.
According to the American Association for the Advancement of Science,
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world. The theory of biological evolution is more than "just a theory." It is as factual an explanation of the universe as the atomic theory of matter or the germ theory of disease. Our understanding of gravity is still a work in progress. But the phenomenon of gravity, like evolution, is an accepted fact.

If you want to pretend that faith is some how religious, then everything is a religion. I mean, every damn thing you think is a religion.. because it is all based on some sort of faith, no matter how much evidence there is to back it up.
You have faith, that this is a person responding to you. You don't know, you just have faith that it is. Your "That is a person talking to me"faith is now a religion. If you deny that, then you will understand why atheists deny that evolution is a religious belief.

You wrote "...the fact that evolution is a religious belief."
Evolution is an observed fact which indicates that biological organisms change over time. Hence, they evolve. I must admit that I was not aware that evolution is a religious belief but thank you for the in-depth analysis.

If you pull a fish out of the water and strand it on land, it will die.
Do you believe that?
Would you call your belief in that fact a "religion"? I hope not, because that belief is based on a mountain of evidence and experience. The word "belief" has more than one meaning in English.

Most rational people now accept the theory of evolution.
To address your second question, Gregor Mendel was not an evolutionist; he was an Austrian monk who laid the foundations of the modern science of genetics through his work with crossbreeding peas. He was a contemporary of Darwin, but did not know of his work.

because atheists are in denial!!!!!!!!
Issac Newton,Johannes Kepler, gregor mendel,Blaise pascel, Michael Farade,William Thomson Kelvin, Robert Byle, galelio, albert Einstine all those scientists believed in GOD!!!!!! And they are the people who gave us the SCIENCE!!!! Those super genius brains believed in GOD and some of them where even Christian( Isaac Newton, Gregor Mendel,Galileo, renewed descartes,William Thomson Kevin, Robert boyle etc) so when all those scientists believed in GOD then of course atheists are in denial, they live in the dark. Because any great mind would of course confess that there is GOD.

Biological mechanisms occur whether you believe in them or not.
Edit- The difference is however all the evidence says evolution occurs whereas there is no valid evidence for God.

Even the vatican has openly acknowledged the simple truth of evolution....why can't you?
