Thank you! I'm so sick of everything dealing with race! It's really pathetic...there's only 1 race and that's the HUMAN RACE. I'm sick of race jokes, race cards, racists, stereotypes, prejudices, people intentionally segregating themselves, etc...like SERIOUSLY it's 2012 it's time that everyone get over their sh*t!!! >:(

I hear a lot about racism on YA, but I don't actually experience it. I live in a racially diverse neighborhood in Alabama. We are Hispanics, Black and White (and whatever other shades of skin that you can fit in there). We all get along, the kids play together, we chat, we pass the time of day...we are neighbors.

So, while I hear about racism a lot on YA, I do not know of any specific examples of it. So, I'm hearing a lot of talk and not much else. It's getting really old. Every slight (whether real or imagined) is called racism. I think that some people use it as an excuse to cover up their own failures or to ease their hurt pride. Some people just refuse to admit that they can be a jerk sometimes. And this goes for all races.

As long as it is perceived that the white race has all the power and control the race card will never stop being pulled. It is taught to people of non-white ethnicities from their own leaders that only whites can be racist. It is taught that anyone can be bigoted or prejudice but only whites have the ability to be racist because we are seen as the only ones with the ability to oppress and discriminate. Just google "Black Liberation Radio" and listen to what they say about us. They claim that all white people raise their kids to think whites are superior. They call us arrogant cave dwellers who are wrecking the planet. They say the white man has a "God Complex". This is why they always pull the race card because they are raised from birth that whites and only whites are racists. If you're white you are already seen by them as a racist before you even open your mouth. If you're white they already see you completely different than you see yourself. It doesn't matter how much they hate us in their minds it's only us who are the racists!

Hunny I understand how you feel but as a black person I know that I am being judged on a higher scale than other citizens that arent black. to me the race card is nothing that can be "played" its a fact of life. I have brown skin and I know my place in this society, I know I have to work harder for what I get in life because of the color of my skin. But that makes me who I am. I can set a good example for those around me.

However I do understand what you are saying you feel that we as black people shouldnt be hung up on the color of our skin but its just really hard not to when you live in a society based on European culture thats 80 percent white. Sometimes you just have to know and understand your place in society.....

Example Black guy with a criminal record cant hardly find work VS a white guy with that same record will not only get a job but excell in the company. This is why we must understand that we are judged on a much higher scale and must strive for perfection. The cost of being black lol

What is the race card? How come no one says anything about hate groups like the KKK instead of focusing on the race card? Racism still exists and to overcome that is to breed tolerance, not hate. To judge individually and to not keep your binders on.

However I do agree it's more interesting being among a plethora of cultures.

IDK why people care so much but it is Whites that colonized and built this social construction as race to maintain power and riches.

You don't have to like a person but at least be respectful.
