Can someone give me a thesis statement on how advertising perpetuate racial stereotypes?

Im doing an argumentative research paper and i want my topic to be on how advertising or tv programs perpetuate racial stereotypes but im having trouble figuring out what my thesis statement should be can anyone give me any suggestions?

"An analysis of the trends in advertising suggest that advertisers merely reflect the prevailing views on racial stereotyping in our society as studies show that any deviation from this model has proven unsuccessful."

Because it is true, the media cannot force an agenda that the people won't accept - look at every PSA ever aired, not effective in the slightest (compared to a product placement).

Advertising is geared to be familiar in order to sell a product. It doesn't make sense to use imagery or a message that does not jibe with the current social climate unless it is in a satirical form. So, advertisers use racial stereotyping because:

a. people are so used to it, any change will spark outrage and a decline in sales
b. people will perceive any change as a sign of insincerity and will therefore not trust the brand in question.
