I think, When We Became Older ,Our Sight Could Not Recognize US, and Saw the Changing Face of US. Sorry, May be, There is No Need US, to Exist. I am also thinking, when I Saw My Face in the Mirror, Is IT Me ?
Not the person you knew. You've just been caught up in the same timescape that we all have. Changes can happen on a minuscule scale but be realized after the accumulation happens. You are changing constantly, and maybe the loss of identification is due to evolvement.
It means you changed. It means that what you have become doesnt match your perception of yourself that you have grown to accustomed to seeing.
Most people are afraid of change and when it happens they come up with all kinds of rationalizations so they can feel better about themselves and avoid accepting the change.
They come up with wild conjectures like that they are mentally ill and that it can somehow be cured and that they havent really changed.Only that their vision has become somehow distorted.
You like yourself for always beeing the same because it gives you some sense of protection and control over your environment.Accepting the fact that people change would mean accepting the loss of control which means the loss of protection.
Loosing yourself means most of the time that the control your ego has over you has become weaker and not that you have lost your spirit.People confuse the self too often for their ego which is not the part of their true self but a false self.
