Is multiculturalism going to go away anytime soon?

I mean German chancellor Merkel a little while ago said it was a failure.

Now French President Sarkozy is pandering to the anti-immigration crowd.

Are we seeing the end of multiculturalism?

Nope, because the 'multiculturalism' they talk about doesn't exist, it's National Socialism they're promoting, which has a foundation in fear of foreigners(which is really, really, really bad BTW).

Since the dawn of men, we've been exchanging cultures, and that is actually essential to a culture surviving, cultures that went into 'protection' mode, died.

You can't go back, and in Europe right now, there's a huge mass of ignorant people, that think they can at least try, because populist politicians rediscovered Hitler's play-book, blame the foreigners, and simply tell the people "What about you?".

So no multiculturalism is, always was, and always will be.

National Socialism might be on the rise though, and that's bad news.

Chancellor Merkel did not say that. She said that the multi-culturalism practiced so far did not work because it allowed people to live in ghettos at the outskirts of society with no incentive to integrate and be contributing citizens. Therefore more integration is the solution, since the reality of today is that people can move freely. But when they move into a country, they should be integrating into the culture and contribute with their own culture. This was a pro-immigration speech, but the British media picked on only that part they wanted to hear.
