would you support the whipping post for crime?why?

    No, unfortunately. I know that it is used quite successfully in countries like Singapore but I have zero confidence in our current justice system over keeping innocent people out of prison and in imprisoning the guilty. In other words, since I cannot be 100% sure that the convicted are actually guilty, I am against both corporal punishment (whipping/flogging) AND the death penalty. After all, if the innocent has been convicted, you can always release them and pay them off if they are later found to be innocent...but just how do you undo a whipping or give someone back their life once you have executed them?
