Should I mail or e-mail my resume when looking for a job?

I will be graduating in May with my Elementary Education degree. My husband and I are looking to move out of state, and I would like to start sending my resume out to a bunch of school districts, even if they do not currently have job openings listed on the job search sites. I am torn between mailing my cover letter, resume, and letters of recommendation or finding the principal of each school's email on their school website and emailing all of it. Which is more professional? Any tips?

Well, posting it is more professional but it may not be seen by who it needs to be seen by...and paper can get lost.

Email is findable even if its accidentally deleted...
