Controversial topic - Diversity?

Question

Do you believe that diversity is natural? What are the benefits and negatives regarding diversity in the workplace/educational institutes?

I personally don't believe it is natural however we adapt our surroundings. The world is a small place and we need to learn how to accept each other.

Yeah it is positive, we would never advance at the rate we are if we only had our own views and technologies.

Being open to and in touch with people who are different to me helps me learn more about this world and us as human beings. In the workplace I find no issue with diversity as everybody is given the same standards to work by and have to be professional, so it doesn't really make any difference. In life and love, I think we are all of the same species and therefore can regard each other as equals, only with slight background and mentality differences, but nothing so great that we shouldn't, for example, marry inter-racially. People were made for people. Pigmentation and childhood memories does not override that we are the same species.

Diversity can be good. The gene pool benefits from fresh jeans. However it can also be bad because it kills off society's. I have a great amount of respect for people that still live subsistence lives. The world would be a worse place if we all lived western lives and it seems we all strive towards that kind of life. It would be sad to see all those traditions and lifestyles disappear.
