What are the consequences of interaction?

I'm writing an essay on multiculturalism, and my sub-topic is going to be the consequences of interaction. So far I have two 1) Assimilation 2) Isolation. But I'm at a loss for a third, so what are some consequences(positive and negative) of interaction in a multicultural society?
