What do you think of when I say "stepmother"?

i have a stepmother, and she is REALLY nice. when i tell others about her, the first thing they ask is "is she mean?" and , embarrassingly, i can't tell if they're kidding or not.

so i got curious and want to know what others think of when i say "stepmother".
