Can I qualify for FHA load individual if I file taxes jointly?

My wife and I got married in 2011 and I am planning on buy a house with an FHA loan in 2012. Because of her bad credit and has no income, I will be applying for the loan individually. If we file our taxes "jointly" for 2011 can we still do this? Thanks!

This would be 2 different things your MFJ income tax return and your mortgage for your home that you and your wife will be buying during the 2012 tax when and IF you can get the FHA loan amount approved for this purpose. Good luck.

Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 03/21/2012

Yes, it won't matter that you file jointly. But in either case they'll look at your income and other financial info, and will want to see the tax return.

the way you file your tax return has nothing to do with your application for a mortgage

they will be looking at the joint income, and check each credit score
