No they're not the same,
Clever definition: Quick to understand, learn, and devise or apply ideas; intelligent.
Skilled at doing or achieving something; talented: "she is clever with her hands".
Subtle definition: (esp. of a change or distinction) So delicate or precise as to be difficult to analyze or describe.
(of a mixture or effect) Delicately complex and understated.
Synonyms of clever: Smart, Intelligent, cunning, Ingenious, apt, Cagey, canny, bright, sharp-witted, quick-witted, Shrwed, sharp, astute. Hope that helped :)

In some contexts clever and subtle can describe similar concepts - the expression "She has a subtle mind" is one.
However their primary meanings are different. "Subtle" implies an approach to a problem that may not be the obvious one or an indirect solution, for example, while "clever" implies an intelligent and insightful approach to a problem.
