Can I use a hamster/rodent playground for my budgie?

Question

At the pet store, I saw the cutest play ground thing for rodents (what else should I call them:D), and I was wondering if it would be safe for my budgie to use. It is the right size, and I THINK he would really enjoy it, so.... any advice?

I've seen bird playgrounds too at Petsmart and Petco, other small pet shops might have them too.
