I approve and disapprove at the same time. I voted for the President and will vote for him again.
The reason why I disapprove is that sometimes I think he is not as Liberal as I would like him to be...he is more of a moderate.
The reasons why I approve far outweighs the my small disapproval.
Foreign Affairs: Speaking as someone who has traveled extensively around the world, America's reputation for arrogance was overwhelming. The only reason people in other countries tolerate our shortcoming is that we have money to spend and we are innovative. I have been observing the movements of the President ever since he got into office, and I can tell you he is in "damage control mode". We are speaking to leaders of countries who no other President in the History of the United States have spoken to in the past.In this changing world, it is not a bad idea to make friends.
National Security: Everybody has to admit that security of the country is excellent...thwarted attacks, which tells me that different departments of the federal government is actually talking to each other!
Veterans: Many bills and healthcare improvements for veterans
Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act of 2009
Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2009
Healthcare reform: Whether anyone admits this or not, America's healthcare is the worst, cost were going up even before the President reformed it. Hospitals complaining that people were using the ER as Primary Care and costing us billions. The first thing the "Job Creators" did was to fire everybody, then hire part time to fill the positions, and thus no obligation to provide insurance coverage.
Economy: The President never lied when he said the process of recovery will be slow, and I have prepared as such. We have seen the improvements in the market and the economy slowly but surely improving. My beef with conservatives right now is that they seem to be cheering every time another company files bankruptcy. I don't understand the hatred for hope.
Environment: If it was not for the President putting the pressure on BP in the Gulf, those people there would not have received one cent of compensation! and that is a fact. Not to mention making them pay for the cleanup. I always remember this when I am enjoying my seafood from the Gulf.
Green energy: I remember the days when companies were not required to take gas consumption into account when designing a car that could be sold globally, putting America back on the map for quality cars. Look how many new friends we have as a result....Australia, Germany, France.
I am firm believer in not putting all my eggs in one basket, oil is one source of fuel and energy, why not do all types, including green energy. I believe this is what the President wants as well.
BTW the has been more drilling under this Administration that any other time before, production is up!
