How do i annotate my own images?

i'm currently doing photography based around light and shadow (mainly black and white photos) for A level and i'm finding it really hard to annotate the photos to be able to get and A.
Are there any tips or key things i need to help me annotate??

Im also doing A level photography too! And when I annotate my work I always talk about formal elements and describe whats in the photo. Also I write about who influences my photo shoots I do and how my photographs have incorporated elements of their work.

I follow a sheet that helps me talk about a photograph in a certain order (knowledge, Comprehension, Observation, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and then Evaluation)

I don't know if this would be any help to you but its worth a try!

Your school library or public library should have annotated books that you can use as inspiration or a guide. For example, there is book entitled Annotated Alice in Wonderland by Martin Gardner. Annotation can range from explaining obscure words to the meaning of a character's name to symbolism.

Talk about composition -rule of thirds, leading lines etc
What are you trying to achieve when you take your photos?
How would you improve it?
