What is the percentage of people that are into BDSM?

Is it very common?

Do people practice it even if they are having a one night stand? That seems kind of dangerous.

In a study of 20,000 Australians by public health researchers at the University of New South Wales, they found that 2% of adult Australians regularly partake in sadomasochism and dominance and submission-type sexual role play (http://www.news.com.au/top-stories/bondage-lovers-... ).

Of course, that is for people who regularly engage in BDSM- for whom it is a lifestyle and an integral part of their sexuality; that number doesn't include people who may occasionally partake in it as an addition to a vanilla sex life.

Most people would not, I don't think, engage in casual BDSM with a stranger unless it was at a safe, exploratory venue (like a play party, etc.) where one assumes consent and safeword rules will be practiced and there are others around to watch and make it safer.

    Hope that helps!

In a recent study from across the world and the United States, it is found that at a low 5% of people practice BDSM, but some place the number at 25%.

Yes, it done for one night stands. And there is risk. A way of risk reduction is the silent alarm. This is a friend whole will call the police if a call from the player is not received within the agreed upon time.
