Burnett doesn't have a great deal of market value. Overall he has been a big disappointment for the Yankees. The Yankees will survive as they usually do. Burnett leaving frees up some cash in order to possibly pick up a decent free agent before the season starts.

What else do you think they could get? Teams weren't exactly beating down the door to get him and he also had a short list of teams he was willing to go to and the Pirates obviously gave the most back.

Whenever you have to pay 70% of a contract just to be able to move the player you aren't going to get much in return.

No. Burnett should be happy he still has something left for other teams to be interested in him.

The players salaries are bloated enough and now your asking if the Yankees should be asking more?

They should be willing to trade him for anything anyone offers. He is making tons of $ and producing poorly. They need to trade him asap
