    Primary medical care is what you receive when first seeking a solution to a medical problem. For instance, say you have a strange rash - you go see your regular (primary care provider), who examines you, and gives you ointment. This is your primary care. You use the ointment for a while, but it doesn't work. You speak to your doctor again - who then refers you to a dermatologist. That is secondary.
